Age & Exercise





At any age we make excuses to not exercise .. too cold , too hot, I am too busy, I get home too late, I start work too early and the big one .. I am too old.


We are never too old to move/ exercise ( side note excluding injuries or medical reasons )


Movement is one of the keys to living a longer healthier life.

Exercising is so good for us physically but mentally it’s a game changer.

I am such an advocate for doing exercise to helps with our mental health.


You don’t have to do hours of cardio or crazy routines, you don’t have to join a gym if you don’t want too, start small like going for a daily short walk and build from there.


I teach this amazing group of women (55+) pilates but these women do something almost everyday , it’s just part of their routine. They do pump , a mix class of step & weights, as well as Pilates. These woman inspire me and never use age as an excuse.


I’ve talked before many times about how as we get older we need to make sure we are doing resistance / weight training, because as we get older we lose muscle mass and doing some kind of resistance training, like  weights , resistance bands , even body weight exercises is better than nothing .


I’ll finish on this , don’t start with big crazy routines that you will more than likely give up, start small 1 change at a time.


Find something you ENJOY doing, start and build from there 😊
