Feeling stuck ? you don't need to stay there.

i am sure at sometime in your life you have felt stuck.
Some people can figure things out and this feeling doesn't last long. Others really struggle with this feeling of being stuck, it can last days/weeks even years.
I know this feeling well, i had to sit down and figure out what i needed to do, what would help me feel unstuck and move forward with my life.
WHAT DID I NEED FOR ME.
This for me did take me looking at my life and making lists,many many lists, lots of journaling,counseling sessions, soul searching, ust being grateful for the small things in my life and making a goal for me to work towards.
I made a list of things that made me happy and a list of what i was doing now, i compared the two and made the changes i needed to so i could bring some joy back into my life.
But it wasn't that easy, i had to work on my 'happy list' everyday, sometimes i found no joy or happiness in my life, other days i had to just pick the smallest things, a walk in the sunshine , a beautiful flower, the sound of the ocean, anything that made me smile.
Sorry there is no magic pill, no quick fix to being unstuck, you need to put in the work everyday.
Sit down with yourself and write down what's going on in your life that isn't helping you be YOU.
i find journaling very cathartic for me, writing down my thoughts,even if they are ugly and make me sad at times i write them down, Other times it is the glimpses of joy i got in my life..i just write all my thoughts down.. the good the bad and the ugly, it is just getting the thoughts out of my head into paper.
The beauty about journaling is that its your thoughts, its about whats happening in your life.
And remember there is no right or wrong with journaling because these are your own thoughts and feelings no one else's.
I also had positive post it notes stuck on my bathroom mirror and i would say 1 everyday till i didn't need too.
Set yourself some goals, start with a short term goal, something that you know you can achieve. Also start thinking about longer term goals ..6 months / 12 months.
Learn a new skill, a language , sign up for a course, start a new exercise routine, learn to dance..do something for YOU.
Take a moment and sit with yourself
WHAT DO YOU WANT TO DO FOR YOU ????
YOU have to make the decision to change your life.
